Owner-Assisted Rehoming Program

 Sometimes circumstances change and keeping your pet is no longer possible. The Furry Paws Foster Inn may be able to help through our Owner-Assisted Rehoming Program.

Please note: This is not a surrender program. Your pet remains in your home and under your care while we assist with finding an appropriate adopter.

If your pet is accepted into our program, we will work with you to gather information about your pet, help advertise them, review potential adopters, and assist with the placement process.

Because we are a foster-based rescue with limited foster space, we cannot take custody of your pet while they wait for adoption.

To participate in our rehoming program:

• You must be located in Maryland, generally within one hour of Baltimore. 
• You must be able to keep and care for your pet until they are adopted. 
• Your pet must be current on their rabies vaccination. If it has expired, we can provide resources for getting it updated. 
• You must provide complete and honest information about your pet's health, temperament, behavior, and history. 
• You must complete our rehoming questionnaire and remain in communication with us throughout the process. 
• You will be required to complete a non-disclosure agreement before receiving a potential adopter's personal information.

 Submitting a questionnaire does not guarantee acceptance into our rehoming program.

There is also no guaranteed timeframe for adoption. Some pets may find homes quickly, while others may take considerably longer.

If you can no longer safely house your pet or need immediate placement, this program may not be the right option because your pet must remain with you throughout the rehoming process.
